ARTIST SHOWCASE THIS THURSDAY

Here are the other people performing this Thursday at the Front Room.

- Pittsburg's own Greg Dutton.
- Chris "My guitar's on fire" Graham.
- Meghan "Janis Joplin Who?" Watkins and Brian Turner.
- Adam "Greg's never met you but your mp3s sound amazing" Torres.

I think that's it, but if I'm forgetting anyone, I'll soon edit.

If you've never heard of these people it means you've probably never been to a single show in Athens, because these people are the real deal musicians. Hopefully we'll fit in.

Show starts at 9. Bring an extra pair of socks.

As an aside, I met Adam Torres a few days ago. He and I cleaned and primed a ceiling and wall at Josh A's new house. So, now I've met the guy but never heard his music. Also, I like that there are so many good musicians in A-ville, but I do so long for the good ol' days of indie rock here. Where didst thou go? Into the land of solo artists, it seems.

Wow...I bet this band could use some fog and lights.

Or maybe not.

Yea, most definitely.

Also, after watching Paul McCartney's halftime pyrotechnics, I recruited my firework-obsessed roommates to hold roman candles on either side of the stage during the show.

I'd say we're set.

Good news everyone. On Thursday I will be done with my part of the dress rehearsal around 830, so I will have plenty of time to make it over for our part of the show.

I wasn't kidding about the lights and the fog...

There will be a time for lights and fog, but that time is not now. When we get a real show, and have a full set, then we can talk lights and fog. But the roman candles are still a go--staples for every show. The goal is that within the next few months we'll polish up the rest of our set list and start playing out more regularly. Then we'll light and fog it up.

Is there anyway to put a little fog machine and a light inside of my cello? I think that would look way really awesome. Paul if you have mini lights and fog machines let me know.

Also I love roman candles.

Kevin, I'm sure we could fit a roman candle inside your chello if the mini lights and mini fog machines don't work out.
