Rock Show this FRIDAY

Indeed, the rumors are true! ("What rumors?") Ghostrunner Come Home has a show this Friday, April 1, at Donkey Coffee. Starts at 9ish p.m.

We'll be opening for
The Substitutes, a highy talented and amusing yet humble rock band from ye olde Athens. Four out of four of these guys are good friends of mine. I'll even vouch for them. And they're funny to watch. And they're pleasant to hear. You can bet that--seeing as it'll be April Fool's Day--they'll have something special planned. Anyone attend their Christmas Party this past year?

We're the opening act, so we'll be going on between 9-9:30, most likely. If you really want to see us, get there at 9, just to be sure!

Where, O where has my rockroll band gone?

It has been several weeks since any sort of practice or playing. I miss the musics. That is all.

PS: I am a degenerate delinquent. I have not yet recorded my parts of the songs. But, to my credit, a friend borrowed the recording equipment. For a few days.

Recording stage One: Complete

The live recordings didn't turn out as well as we'd hoped ("Are those guitars I hear in the distance?"), so we've opted for some home recording. Drums and bass are done for the two songs we'll be working on currently, and they sound great. We should get Kevin on cello and my guitars and voice on there within the week. Which means you should be seeing links to them here with in two weeks.

As an aside, I love recording. It's so technical, and so much can go wrong, but it also feels so fluid. It feels close, intimate. And the unique tiredness that it presents provides the amazing opportunity to meet your bandmates at the absolute minimum of their mental functioning! Ah, to get into the studio!
